“Good Soil” ~ CFDb Recommendation & Review

Good Soil

Ships from Europe brought Christianity to the shores of Japan in 1549. For nearly 100 years the seeds of faith grew under the watchful gaze of the shogun. But the fear of foreign influence eventually gave rise to persecution.

By 1624 Japanese Christians had only a few more years of peace. Masuda Jinbei, a Japanese Christian of the samurai class, draws his strength from his faith, family, and fencing. Life is good, until the shogun decrees a brutal policy of religious cleansing. Now Jinbei must choose between his family and his faith.

Good soil 1

What a POWERFUL short Christian film.  This 22 minute film is a MUST SEE!  This is a film that transports you back in time, yet also transports you forward in time when persecution will become more widespread.  Persecution of Christians has never ended completely but there will come a time when we will each have to face our fears and our faith just like so many other Christians have had to do all through the ages.

This film causes you to really seek God and draw closer to Him and ask for the strength to stand strong when our faith is tested to the extreme.
