‘It is Your Life: The Moody Family’ ~ CFDb Movie Review

It Is Your Life: The Moody Family

In this increasingly secular world, God is raising up families that love Him and seek to obey His Word. They aren’t perfect families. But God, in His grace, is doing a work in their hearts and homes. In this second episode of It is Your Life, we’ll take you to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina to visit the home of the Moody Family. You will be encouraged, challenged, and inspired as Trent and Angela transparently share the joys and challenges of raising a Christian family in an ungodly culture.

Topics include:

  •  Family unity
  •  Home education for Biblical reasons
  •  Grandparents’ perspectives
  •  Influencing the culture while protecting our children
  •  Trusting the Lord for the blessing of children in spite of financial and physical difficulties
  •  Training sons and daughters in their God-ordained roles
  •  Caring for an aging parent
  •  Daily family worship

You’ll find the Moody’s transparency in sharing their own struggles to be quite refreshing!

The building blocks for our future is the family and as we leave the Biblical principles, we see the break down of the family all around us.

The Moody Family is prayerfully doing things the right way…according to God’s Word.  Mr. Moody, the father and leader in the home talks about the greatest desire being to raise his family to the glory of God and through their example to have others do the same.  Going back to God’s Word!

They base their lives on Deuteronomy 32:46, 47 – And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.  For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

Powerful words – it is your life!

Interesting and inspiring film!  When there wasn’t a church nearby where they could be fed and led to go, they moved!  Willing to do whatever it takes to follow God.  They long to stay strong, and stay true!  To God and to each other!

One statement made was great – if the child does something bad then there is inner reflection to find out if the reason why that child did something bad was because they saw their father doing it…They pray together and have family worship and the father is the leader and example in the home…the head of the household…the spiritual leader!  It was refreshing to see!

As we get closer to the end of time and Jesus’ return, we know that God is drawing people back to His Word and back to Himself, back to the words of Jesus telling us that we must deny ourselves, pick up the cross daily, and follow Him.

One way to do this is to go back to God’s ways in the family!
