“One Night with the King” ~ CFDb Recommendation & Review

One Night with the King

Feel the touch of destiny.

An epic adventure that follows a young Jewish orphan who rises from peasant to Queen of Persia by going against the culture and seeking the King’s heart–rather than the riches of the kingdom. By ‘chance’ she is born with exceeding beauty to a people who have been carried away as slaves to the most powerful kingdom in the world. By ‘chance’ the Queen is executed by the unknowing King, spurred on by the ruthless plotting of palace princes hungry for power. By ‘chance’ the King is left feeling alone, pushed and prodded, desperate to live up to and avenge the battles of his father. By ‘chance’ Esther is carted off to the palace to become part of the King’s harem, at the same time that a vengeful young prime minister with the King’s ear is rising to prominence with a plan for orchestrating the genocide of her people.

So begins the story of Esther–a story that reveals that all of life is under God’s command. Power, position and prominence are one thing, but when Esther must choose between all she’s ever dreamed of and the fate of her people, will she be able to find the courage to step forward and embrace her destiny.

One of my favorite Bible movies based on one of my favorites books of the Bible…Esther.  Who doesn’t love a good Esther story?   We saw this one in the theaters when it first came out and there was one scene in particular that I wasn’t sure was accurate and it really bothered me until I went home, looked it up and the movie was RIGHT!  It was a fantastic idea to add this to the movie.  If you’ve seen it, can you guess what it is?  If you haven’t seen this yet…it’s time you did!

Fantastic cast, great story, inspirational and some really great moments and unique ideas throughout this film.

One of my FAVORITE Christian movies. So inspirational! I still get chills every time I watch Esther make that long march across the King’s hall with a climactic orchestra accompaniment in the background.
