Brother’s Keeper

Film Description:

Sometimes the greatest revenge is forgiveness

Identical twins Andy and Pete Goodwynn have been side-by-side since the womb. But that’s about to change…

As their high school graduation nears, Pete plans to marry Maggie, the love of his life, and head off to school to become a preacher. Andy, who wants nothing to do with God, has no plans, no direction, and seemingly no future.

But in a cruel twist of fate—orchestrated by a rival for Maggie’s heart—Pete finds himself locked away in prison on trumped-up charges.

Will Andy be able to help Pete gain his rightful freedom? Will the brothers seek vengeance on those whose corruption and deceit have taken that freedom away? While revenge may seem sweet, BROTHER’S KEEPER is a powerful reminder that only forgiveness can truly heal.

Hi ladies and gents, my name is Josh Mills.
Im the director of Brother’s Keeper, and I stopped by to answer a few of your questions. We are currently running our theatrical campaign through Seatzy.com. This is a viral “grass roots” model that enables independent films like ours with limited “print and advertising” funds to expand into your local markets. Our campaigns are in roughly 50 cities thus far and expanding quickly. You simply click on http://www.Seatzy.com then click brother’s keeper. You can scroll through the existing campaigns and search for your city. The film will be available late next Spring on DVD and VOD. If your interested in joining our efforts on Seatzy, please contact me personally or a seatzy rep and we can answer any question you may have. We are also doing several “sneak peaks” of the official Producer’s Cut for our backers that help with seatzy efforts. Thank you so much for your interest!!! -Josh

All previous comments were made in 2013 – and yet still no word about when “Brother’s Keeper” is going to be released. Is it available anywhere on DVD? I’ve looked on all Christian websites, but can not find it.

I watched a premier of film in the fall of 2013. It is fantastic and I am very anxious to take my Bible study group to see the film. I cannot find it playing in any theater, nor is it available for rent or purchase. Can I get a church license copy?

    ***Spoiler Alert***

I liked the message of the movie, however numerous plot holes and easily avoidable errors kept me from truly enjoying it. One plot hole was that a first degree murder charge requires premeditation. Neither version of the crime depicted supported that charge. Without it, there is no possibility of the death penalty, a key element of the plot. Another was the fact that prisons give prison haircuts, so the two would no longer have the same hairstyle and the final plan would have failed. The largest plot hole involved the end where the recent 40 stitches in each arm were overlooked before and after the final events. There were several other factual mistakes that did not rise to the level of a plot hole, as well as a continuity error with the year of the parents’ death shown (1949) and the year on the tombstone (1948). While I realize this is a low budget endeavor, I’d suggest some technical advice on future efforts to avoid these simple and easily avoidable errors. There are plenty of Christian law enforcement officers or attorneys that could have helped avoid them at little to no cost.
