The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc

Film Reviews:

Dove foundation Review – “Profanity and obscenity throughout; brutal war violence, including beatings, decapitations, and other brutalities; Joan’s sister is raped while dying from hanging on a sword thrust into her middle; necrophilia, Joan is brutalized; birds eat the flesh of dead people; as Joan faces the flames, we see her skin burning off her body; occultish mysticism”

Movie Guide Review – This film distorts the historical record of its 15th Century protagonist to fit the filmmakers secular humanist, anti-Christian biases. The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc is also filled with unnecessarily graphic war violence, including a violent rape scene that never actually took place.

(Parental Warning! – Language)

This is not a Christian Film, based on these Reviews!

What the heck is WRONG with you people? I saw the first half of this film….it is utter TRASH. NOT a Christian film at all. Should not even be listed on a site that people come to looking for Christian films to inspire them in the faith!!

    Hi Carolyn,

The reason we have this film listed on CFDb, is because Christians look for it, so we wanted to give a warning to those who choose to maybe watch it and are not sure. If you look on the Film page we state that this is “Not a Christian Film” and give a warning about watching it.

CFDb is here to help people find all Christian Films and Films Marketed as Christian such as this one, we list reviews and a trailers to help people decide what to watch, but in the end it’s up to the user, if they want to watch it or not.

I hope that helps explain why it’s listed. Thanks for your feedback, if you have any other questions, please ask.

    Thanks,

    Roger Rudlaff – CFDb
