Cindy says… It was one of those that not only were there characters that you could care about, and want to know better, but the movie also gave you a perspective that may not have occurred to you as you deal with issues in your own life.

Why is there a peace sign big at the end of the movie?

I wonder how Bill Shafer felt when his wife Erin Bethea(who played as Alexandrea in the movie) kissed actor TJ Dalrymple on the lips, at the engagement scene. I would not have wanted my wife doing that even if it was just an act. What is Erin’s loyalty to, her husband or her acting career?

This is a real subject for actors/actresses to pray about. There are some actors/actresses that refuse any sort of kissing scenes with anyone other than their spouses.

Thank you Annelie for your courteous response to my comment. I really do believe though it is a better for Christian actors/actresses to try and avoid participating in such scenes, for not only is it a better testimony but it can help to prevent actors/actresses from falling into serious temptations.

The engagement scene was very well done. Even in Christian movies, they need to be as realistic as possible to portray real life emotions in their scenes. When a woman receives an engagement ring from the man that she loves, she will hug him and give him a kiss of appreciation. No Christian should feel offended by that touching scene. I’m sure that Erin wanted to make that scene as real as possible and that her husband had no problem with it at all.

I must say it was so awesome to hear Bruce (who played Jesus) share his testimony. What great faith Bruce has.
Jesus Christ truly is the only way to the Father. I am so excited to go see This Is our Time.

In reference to Jeff Brown’s response, some of what he said may be true, but I believe the engagement scene could have been portrayed just as realistic without the kiss. I stated my comments more as a matter of caution because one thing can lead to another even if it’s just part of a script. We don’t know exactly how Erin’s husband felt about the scene without hearing his comments on it. I have also noticed lately that in some of Erin’s latest published public interviews, mostly in Hollywood, that she is not wearing her weddings rings. I hope that’s not a bad sign.

I loved the movie, but I was also very put off by the peace sign in the Speak Now banner. Why did they do that? Did anyone get feedback from PUREFLIX?

Now that you mention it, I seem to recall that as well. Great question. It’s always bothered me whenever I’ve seen it, at least once I became a Christian. I never researched it, but I always thought it looked like an upside down cross which is disturbing.
