CFDb January 2012 Newsletter

Greetings Fellow Christian Film Lovers!

January is the time for resolutions and new beginnings!  I want to share one of the most amazing seminars I’ve ever taken.  It’s a free, online course that takes just 15 minutes a day.  Even the workbook is free online.  Now to be honest this took me 8 months to finish as I could only listen when I had the extra time.  I would highly recommend this course. It’s Course Level#1 and it is a Christian oriented seminar on how to walk in victory in every area of your life.  Many non-Christians have also taken this course!

II Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:  old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Special News for the month of January:

You may have noticed the extra mid December newsletter requesting to take a survey.  The results were as follows:

Most newsletter subscribers would prefer a newsletter 1x per month.

Quite a few wanted 2x a month or even 1x a week so we’ll stick to 1x a month but will occasionally send out a mid monthly newsletter.

Upcoming films are the most popular reason for the newsletter.

Articles/Reviews are the 2nd most popular.

Personal testimonies from people who were changed as a result of a Christian film, Giveaways and Interviews are the 3rd most popular.

Coupons ranked 4th in the survey polls.  We will only do these occasionally.

We will no longer be adding the upcoming Film Festivals as there doesn’t seem to be much interest for our newsletter subscribers.  Whenever you want to check out what Festivals are coming up, check out the Film Festival page on the database.

As a result of the recent survey we will be implementing the requests of our readers within the next few months.

CFDb Current Film Pick of the Month
If you are looking for an inspirational true story…THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS tells the story of one family’s quest for their seriously ill son to experience an early and magical Christmas, and how an entire community came together to make it possible. Their journey and desire to cherish every moment would change their lives and those of millions around the world forever.
Some movies inspire you to make a difference in this world.  This is one of those special films!

Beware of Christians – A MUST SEE

This is my own personal testimony of how THIS film changed my life.  This is about a group of College kids who decide to question the norm of Christianity that they see and instead explore what the Bible has to say about how they should live.  It’s a documentary about Christian life and what they see and experience and how they want to change as a result of what they read in the Bible.

After watching this film I made a decision to begin again to read my Bible from beginning to end and search out what does God want me to do?  What would please Him on an everday basis?  It caused me to make a decision to say Good-bye to mainline Christianity with all its traditions and hypocrisies.  (Sorry if that might offend some, but Paul did say in II Corinthians 13:5 – Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.  Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?)

There is a reason why people aren’t interested in Christianity and a reason why people don’t want to remain Christians.  It’s because people see that there is no difference between those that accept Christ and those that don’t.  That is unacceptable to God and to me and obviously to these young men as well.  I urge you to watch this film and I pray it changes your life as it did mine!

A Moms4Family TV Partnership Representative

What is Moms4Family TV and how did they get started?

Moms4FamilyTV was started by a group of regular moms who wanted more for their family from television. Tired of having to dive for the remote, they decided to work together to let the entertainment industry know that there is a growing demand for entertainment that families can watch and enjoy together. In 2009, Moms4FamilyTV partnered with Walmart and P&G’s Family Movie Night initiative and began promoting quality family entertainment.

What is your favorite Moms4Family TV film that you’ve promoted?

My favorite film has been A Walk in My Shoes (December, 2010) because its story line centers around the idea that sometimes your own wounds can be healed by serving the people around you. In my own life, I’ve seen that the more I pour myself out for the people around me, the more I am blessed in return. I love promoting movies with filled with so much truth!

How can other people help promote Moms4Family TV?

I’m so glad you asked! There are a few easy ways to help promote Moms4FamilyTV:

  • Tune in to the next Family Movie Night! Go to moms4familytv.com for airing details.
  • Send an email to your friends and family encouraging them to tune in to the next Family Movie Night. High viewership ensures more family entertainment in the future!
  • Post on Facebook or Twitter about the next Family Movie Night! Check out our Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/moms4familytv
  • Join the movement by visiting http://www.moms4familytv.com/about.php and get updated on how you can help!

Have there been any testimonials from fans about a particular M4FTV movies?

We have gotten hundreds of testimonials from fans, but one of the most moving testimonials came from a woman who watched Change of Plans (January, 2011) a film that centered around the theme of adoption. After watching the movie this woman and her husband decided that they were going to put their fears aside and begin the process of adoption. It is so encouraging to know that there is a little girl or boy who has a loving family because of one of our movies! That is what we are all about-entertainment that changes people’s hearts for the better.
