“Wake Before I Die” ~ CFDb Movie Review

Wake Before I Die

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” -Matthew 7:15

After moving his family to a small Northwest town, Pastor Dan Bennett begins to suspect that all might not be as idyllic as he first imagined. Strange spiritual obsessions begin to unearth age-old secrets, and personal threats await anyone who dares confront them. He realizes he must not only prepare his new congregation to face the assault, but also fortify his own home as evil seeks to invade and shake it to its very foundation.

WAKE BEFORE I DIE, based on the novel “MY SOUL TO TAKE,” takes the audience on a suspenseful roller coaster ride along a dangerous path of mystery and deception.

wake before I die

I really liked the musical score on this Christian Thriller.  I was always looking for something to happen.  There were a couple of times I actually got chills.  By the time the film was over it did leave me wanting more and looking for a sequel.  There were questions I really wanted answered but they weren’t answered and left you hanging in suspense…I’ve just been told there will be a sequel so looking forward to that.

I need to ask you to tell me what you think is the meaning of the title “Wake Before I Die” after you’ve seen the film and remember it’s based on the book, My Soul to Take so you’ll have to think about both those titles before you answer.

This film reminded me a little of Frank Peretti’s This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness series.  Two of my all time favorite books about spiritual warfare.
