Although not a Christian film, we agreed to review this film because we ALL, Christian or Non-Christian have money struggles and we ALL need hope…which is what this documentary ultimately provides.
This documentary brought out some staggering and frightening statistics that affect everyday Americans…that means YOU and ME!
This documentary talks about 4 different people/families and their struggles. These are everyday struggles we’ve all faced, at one time or another. Financial, Health, & Business struggles and how they all can affect our lives and what can we ultimately do about it.
This film also covers the truth about certain institutions that seem great in the beginning, but lead you into a downward spiral to more debt.
It’s important to have emergency funds and I want to take a moment to recommend Dave Ramsey. He is well known and really can help in teaching you how to handle your money wisely. Use his resources, along with the help provided from this documentary.
Now let’s talk about Debbie. Although I really loved all 4 stories, Debbie’s really tugged at me. It is an inspiring story and yet heartbreaking because of all the struggles she is going through to make it as a young entrepreneur. I immediately thought, she needs to be on “Shark Tank” and I hope she gets on there or that one of the sharks watches this documentary and gets a hold of her.
What was painfully obvious to me is how much work people go through in their daily lives, especially when business is involved. The next time you’re tempted to get jealous of someone who has made it big or rich…do NOT think it was handed to them on a silver platter…they worked for it. It is a rare case indeed where that is not the truth.
Where can you find this hope? You would think I would say JESUS right here and you would be right. Here’s why:
- I truly believe that everything good comes from God and therefore this amazing documentary, whether known or not, comes from Him.
‘Spent: Looking for Change‘ – The title is AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT in itself. We are SPENT spiritually and emotionally and financially, sometimes even physically from our daily lives here in America and a lot of that reason is because of how we handle our finances.
Looking for Change? Love it! We are constantly looking for change…literally – I remember just yesterday searching for change so I didn’t have to spend my dollars and then the change we are all desperate for…to manage our money and our time more wisely.
The website has an alliance page with places that can help you get those changes started. Don’t delay in checking out these options of hope. I hope that each of these alliances one day makes a documentary about themselves and how they can each help us change and those videos would each go viral. Each person helping another spread the word.
