‘Courageous’ ~ CFDb Movie Review
& Highest Recommendation
As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, and their partners are confident and focused. They willingly stand up to the worst the world can offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.
While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they’re quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark. They know that God desires to turn the hearts of fathers to their children, but their children are beginning to drift further and further away from them.
Will they be able to find a way to serve and protect those that are most dear to them? When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a new found urgency help these dads draw closer to God, and to their children?
This is one of those movies everyone should see, especially dads! I’ve seen this film 2 times and loved it both times, even more so the 2nd time than the first.
There are such great moments of this film throughout! This movie will make you laugh and make you cry, but mostly, it’s a call to action, not just for dads! It’s inspirational! If you haven’t had a chance yet to see this film, don’t miss it!
Below is one of the pictures from a great moment – a dad taking his daughter out to dinner for a daddy/daughter date and giving her a ring, not just any ring but a purity ring, which is a GREAT idea! I wish my dad had done this for me. Children need to understand how special they truly are and how they should wait for marriage.
My favorite character in this film is Robert Amaya who plays Javier Martinez. Fantastic in all ways. There is one scene in this film where the theater was laughing so hard. I was one of them, with tears pouring out because he was so funny. It’s such a serious movie with a serious message but the humor throughout was just enough to make this a really enjoyable film.
