The Go-Getter

Disabled in the war, Bill Peck’s hardships prepared him with the will to persist. The owner of the company, impressed with Bill’s enthusiasm, gives him a job. However, Bill’s immediate boss wants him “put in his place” and conspires against him. Bill initially succeeds, to his boss’ chagrin.

When the company owner asks Bill to accept an assignment, the objective with man-made obstacles makes the task almost insurmountable. Tempted to give up, Bill absolutely refuses to stop, and persists. Tested again and again, he pursues his objectives with faith, hard work and courage. This is an inspirational story about human potential to overcome even the most overwhelming obstacles.

This is a film about integrity that will inspire you to live the way Jesus wants you to live.  Although this isn’t a Christian Film, the message is there for all who want to find it.  Here were some highlights:

  • Pay close attention to the beginning where you can read the quote on the watch.
  • The main character Bill Peck, reminds me of Esther – who knows if you were born for such a time as this.  Who can tell what will prosper…this or that.  We are called to be faithful and to walk in integrity and love and that is what this young man did.  His character was admirable.
  • Some in his condition would complain, but Bill didn’t.  Someone inspired him to be optimistic and no matter what happened, he was.
  • Our word means something and so many tests are brought into our lives…will be pass the test or give up and complain that it’s too hard.  What are we missing when we do that?  What are we missing when we cut corners or don’t follow through with our word???  As Christians we should be even more cautious about doing the right thing at all times, even when no one else is watching.

I read somewhere that Mother Teresa used to refer to problems as blessings.  I also read recently from another person that we should look at problems as challenges, opportunities, and new adventures.  Great advice and as Christians, we should not only walk in love and integrity, but we should be content and optimistic.

If you are looking for a job, this is a film you must see!  Such faith was shown during the job hunting process.
