‘The Visitation’ ~ CFDb Movie Review
The Visitation
The true face of terror is revealed in this supernatural thriller based on Frank Peretti’s best-selling novel.
Miracles are happening in the sleepy town of Antioch, and everyone is talking about the mysterious drifter with the incredible powers. But who is this charismatic stranger – the true Messiah, a false prophet or something far more sinister?
The townspeople are soon divided, and when happenings at the stranger’s revival tent take on a bizarre and frightening twist, it’s up to an ex-minister to confront his own inner demons and unlock the shocking secret of The Visitation.
I chose the picture above because I really liked the way they portrayed this. I first listened to ‘The Visitation‘ on audio tape many years ago and loved it. This movie, although really good, was not as good as the book, as is the case for most movies. Here were some highlights for me from this movie:
- We’re always looking for a miracle. (Are we wanting a miracle so badly we will take one from Satan? Something to ask ourselves.)
- Intriguing from beginning to end with some unexpected surprises.
- Enjoyed the special effects.
Ellen Geer
Ellen Geer, who plays Mrs. Macon was the highlight for me. She did an excellent job in this film and really did scare me so much I jumped in one scene.
Overall, an entertaining film, with a good message, yet a very sad ending. Did you know that David A.R. White makes a cameo in this one?
