CFDb Interviews Tara Fallier ~ Actress
= > Please share with us a little about your background and how you knew you wanted to get into the film industry as an actress?
I was born in New Delhi, India. I was abandoned by my birth mother, and so by the grace of God, He brought me to the United States when I was just shy of 11 months old. I was raised in a Christian home, however, like many people, my faith did get weaker as I got older. When I was 24 years old, I was going through a tough personal time in my life. I was watching an extremely inspirational video which then lead me to surrender my life to the Lord.
I knew I wanted to be in the entertainment industry when I was 10 years old. I was and still am a huge fan of the Backstreet Boys and thought how cool it would be, to be traveling the world and being in a unique industry, as well as touching peoples lives. Then when I reached high school and got involved in the musicals. It was then that I really decided to become a professional actress.
= > Is there anything unique that you can do that would set you apart from other aspiring actresses?
When I was in college, I did take a class called Stage Combat, where I learned hand-to-hand fighting and rapier sword fighting. I am pretty good at most sports. As far as singing goes, I guess it depends upon who’s listening…lol! But I have been working on it. I have danced, only in the musicals. I never did take any professional dance lessons.
= > Has there been a favorite acting experience either in training or in a play/musical that you can share with us?
My favorite acting experience within my training would have to be the stage combat class. For both the hand-to-hand and sword fighting, we did an open scene and so it was really, really neat to see everyone come up with their own characters, setting, and story.
My favorite show I ever did was my high school senior year, we performed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. There was just so much energy within that show, that it really fueled my passion only further.
= > What is your ultimate dream for acting?
My ultimate dream for acting is to become successful doing films that touch people’s lives. Films that have great stories such as Fireproof, The Encounter, or Facing the Giants. Films that people can relate to on a daily basis. And also because I’m from India, I want to open the door for ethnic people like myself to be accepted in the entertainment industry, whether that be in the Christian films or the secular films.
= > How can a casting agent contact you for an upcoming Christian film?
A casting agent can contact me by either emailing at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling my cell phone at (920) 418-3251.
