On May 6th 2014 AMC theaters across the U.S. will be showing a one-night event screening of Focus On The Family’s Irreplaceable as a part of their Fathom Events program. The documentary film follows Tim Sisarich, New Zealand Executive Director of Focus on the Family, as he explores the adage “if family fails, society fails”.
Sisarich, who believes in traditional marriage and family, consults with various experts around the globe to determine whether the concept of the traditional family is meaningful or in fact outdated. He explores the origins and history of the family structure through an array of lenses and cultures. Somewhat controversially, the film explores the topic of homosexual marriage, the medias support of it, and its effect on society.
In September 2013 Fathom had its biggest ever box office release with Kirk Cameron’s Unstoppable to a tune of over 3.2 million dollars. Time will tell whether with the support of Focus On The Family’s massive multi-media platform Irreplaceable will yield as great of a commercial result for Fathom.
