I am new to the field of screenwriting, but (having grown up with artsy parents in L.A.) I’ve been an avid movie fan from a young age. During the 2008 election, I noticed that Christians didn’t seem to have a strong voice and I was saddened. Did my generation lose the ability to dialogue with a younger generation? Were our “answers” to life’s questions shallow when depth is necessary?
From then, I embarked on writing a story about an issue Christians have difficulty, in a similar way that the movie Crash dealt with racism. The issue is homosexuality and the Christian response, not to mention the caricature of Christians portrayed in the media. It’s a punch in the nose, but possibly a necessary one to jar us out of our funk.
