Alone Yet Not Alone

Film Description:

Alone Yet Not Alone – The year is 1755, and the English colonies are being ravaged by the atrocities of war.

Opposing European powers have clashed over the fertile Ohio valley, and entire families are devastated by the ensuing violence. Hostile native tribes are raiding the vulnerable frontier farms, and two young sisters are among those taken captive.

While hoping for rescue and return to their home, they are comforted with the words of a family hymn: Alone Yet Not Alone. But when the sisters are suddenly and cruelly separated, their tender faith is brought to a stretching point.

Forcibly immersed into a primitive foreign culture, the older sister, Barbara, clings to her beliefs. Yet now a deeper fate threatens, and she makes a difficult decision: to risk her life in an attempt to escape.

Pursued by a relentless and cunning warrior, Barbara and her three fellow captives must cross over two hundred miles of raw wilderness in their effort to reach friendly territory.

Will their courage and trust in God be enough to see them through? And if they do succeed, will they find their family? Will Barbara ever see her sister again? Alone Yet Not Alone depicts the riveting true story of a family at a critical juncture in our nation’s history.

We think that their website for the film must be down, we’re doing some research on this one to try and find out more.

10/9 – I e-mailed the company to find out more information as their website still seems to be down.

I did a. Book study with a group of people at our church and we hated for it to end. Such an inspirational book of true faith. We can hardly wait for the DVD to come out. Live in a small town so I doubt the movie will make it here, so we are chomping at the for the DVD,

  6. History says

The story takes place in the Susquehanna Valley in Pennsylvania, not the Ohio Valley. It is based on the true story of the LeRoy Massacre (or Penn’s Creek Massacre) that occurred in Snyder/Union Counties Pennsylvania. The original transcript of the story is available in John Blair Linn’s “Annals of Buffalo Valley Pennsylvania.”

Also the movie should debut in September 2013

Sounds like what happened to Native Tribes….taken from their “not primitive foreign culture” and put in another hostile culture, which stripped them of their humanity. Please God, I pray that this film is not offensive to our Native American brothers and sisters, who desperately need the Lord.

“Alone Yet Not Alone” is exactly what the world needs…a Eurocentric waste of time and film. All the talk about hostile and primitive foreign cultures about the people who were here in the US first has told me all I need to know about this movie. Thanks for saving me time, money, and frustration.

  23. Lawrence says

Will these people who want to be native people defenders lighten up and learn their history please! The French and Indian war was just that. A war. There were native Americans who participated on both sides with some allied with the French and some allied with the British. Regardless of which side you were on you would have native peoples to fight by your side while fighting against other native peoples just as European descendants fought against each other. This movie is centered on actual events in peoples lives and what they overcame through their own personal strength of faith. It also is about courageous women who were non-combatants yet nevertheless got caught up in the war. If you don’t like true stories of our ancestors then please stick to your mindless vampire, werewolf, and comic book movies!

I am a homeschooling mom to 5. I read a book entitled: “I am Regina” by Sally M. Keehn, copyright 1991 and I am sure it is the same story written from true accounts of the French and Indian War time period of 1755. I came across the book while perusing the library for books for my school age children to read in their studies and it quickly became a favorite of our family. Thankfully I purchased the book as it is no longer on the shelves of the local library. It is a poignant retelling of history and well worth the effort to read. I would love to see this film – is it available for purchase?

  25. Annelie says

It is coming out in the theaters first this year so it may be later on in the year it’s available for purchase.

I think it is crazy ,That People think some of the statements. ,I have read about this movie are racist,,,Just saying my people were looked at as savages in that time period,,,By the way some people think that way now, Some people don’t want the history of this nation told in the real way,,The forefathers were very very god fearing no matter what people want to think,,,,My people were as well god fearing ,But when the settlers seen us,They thought the same way people think to day that don’t understand what we were about,It hurts my heart that people today only want to watch drug and gang banger movies….What happened to the history in schools,,The people against this kind of movie are wanting to do away with The Creator in the hearts of good and GOD fearing people of today..It is very sad we have this mine set in the Great USA………

I wanted to see it when it was here, but as it turned out it was Fathers Day weekend. My women’s group from church were all going to go, but because of the conflict regarding the dates, too many dropped out. I thought it would stick around for another weekend, but then it was gone. And I live in the Los Angeles CA area! I keep seeing on the website that it is playing all around me, but then when I go to the theater’s site it is not there. Has it gone? And if so, when will the DVD come out? I really wanted to see it.

I wanted to see this movie all summer. Supposedly it was in our area (Grand Rapids, Michigan) over Father’s Day weekend, but I never saw it in the theatre listings. It certainly wasn’t in the theatres for very long. Is there a way to bring it back? I guess I’ll have to wait until it is out on DVD.
