Such Were Some of You

Film Description:

Such Were Some of You (A Documentary) was inspired by the passage in 1st Corinthians 6:11 that declares that in Jesus’ day there was a population who had been so transformed by their relationship with Him that they were no longer “same-sex attracted” or at the very least, actively homosexual. They had found such a measure of healing from the brokenness and strongholds associated with what we now call homosexuality that they no longer considered themselves homosexual, nor did they act in that way.

“Such Were Some of You” features interviews with a “cloud of present-day witnesses” who testify to the same life-transforming power of Jesus Christ. They describe the development of their same-sex attractions, what the gay lifestyle was like, what their conversion process was like, and the various ways that Jesus has brought healing to their broken places.

‘Such Were Some of You’ lays out the facts about healing homosexual confusion and rejoices in the reality that Jesus Christ can heal anyone from anything while providing grace for the journey.

Absolutely excellent film! Very well produced, informative, inspiring, moving, and the testimonies were awesome. The Gospel is also clearly conveyed and nothing in the movie comes across as contrived or “churchy-religious”, but rather as real, honest, sincere, and straight-up truthful. This is life-changing!

The other night we watched that movie called “Holy Ghost” which was, quite honestly, ridiculous (though it promised to “make God famous” and to prove the existence of the Holy Spirit). It did neither. Just a lot of talk about “feeling the power” and “love” but with virtually no reference to Christ, the Gospel, or repentance in conversion. The film was a total letdown, and then we saw Such Were Some Of You and there is no comparison! This movie (Such Were Some Of You) demonstrated the true love of God, the true power of God, and was far more convincing than the other movie.

My only complaint regarding Such Were Some Of You was that the music in the film was quite loud and overbearing and just never ended… The movie is also a bit long with the latter part being much better than the first half, but even with these issues, it was still excellent and I would recommend it – regardless of whether you are someone who has struggled with homosexuality or have known someone who does… This hits all of us at some point, because all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Great film!

Be advised that there are no subtitles, which was a disappointment (as my friend, watching it with me, is hard of hearing). How can you have a movie made in 2014 that doesn’t have subtitles? But I digress. 🙂 It would be cool to see this re-released with the music problem fixed and subtitles added.

Thanks for your comments Dave and I really do wish there were subtitles on all films – someone did mention to me it was quite costly so I’m guessing that’s the reason.

    Dave & Annelie,

We have heard you and our last release of the DVD now includes closed captions and/or subtitles.

We also lowered the sound on some of the more obviously too loud sections.
