‘A.D. The Bible Continues’ ~ CFDb Movie
Review & Recommendation

A.D. – picks up where the smash hit, “The Bible,” left off, continuing the greatest story ever told and exploring the exciting and inspiring events that followed the Crucifixion of Christ.

As most of the world knows, the Crucifixion was only the beginning of the story. The immediate aftermath of Christ’s death had a massive impact on his disciples, his mother Mary, and key political and religious leaders of the era, completely altering the entire world in an instant. Watch as the disciples struggle to survive and share their beliefs, guiding us from the sorrow of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice to the awe-inspiring wonder of the Resurrection and beyond.

From Executive Producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett comes an uplifting spiritual journey through the later chapters of biblical history.

A.D. premieres Easter Sunday, April 5th, 2015. The Season 1 Finale is Father’s Day, June 21st 2015. The series is scheduled to run for 12 consecutive Sundays at 8PM on NBC.

Sneak Preview

We had the privilege of attending one of the screenings for the 1st episode of A.D. this past week and we were BLESSED!  Besides the great talk from Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, their love for God and this series really shined forth brightly.  Their enthusiasm was quite contagious and for good reason.  Here were some highlights:

  • The resurrection being the catalyst that altered history.  I don’t think this was spoken during the movie, but such a powerful statement that was shared before the movie began.
  • Powerful beginning and powerful ending.
  • Some obvious hypocrisies shown.  May our eyes be opened to recognize any hypocrisies in ourselves.
  • Some interesting spins in the first episode.  Thought provoking.
  • Loved the last words that Pilate’s wife spoke to him.
  • Great scene after Jesus takes His final breath.
  • Best resurrection scene we’ve ever seen.  Fabulous imagery and you’ll not be likely to forget it.  I can’t wait to see it again and since it will be on TV, to pause it and watch it again and again and again.

If the first episode is an indication of the entire series, then we are ALL in for a treat…believer and non believer alike.  Don’t miss this when it comes out Easter Sunday on NBC.

Remember to pray for Mark and Roma as well.  It is quite a challenge to make a movie, but to make a movie about our God and Savior…that solicits the attacks of the enemy and they have not been immune to it.

Whoever wrote the script needs to read the Book of Acts because they have no clue what happened in it.
