‘He Named Me Malala’ ~
CFDb Movie Review
HE NAMED ME MALALA is an intimate portrait of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. The then 15-year-old (she turns 18 this July) was singled out, along with her father, for advocating for girls’ education, and the attack on her sparked an outcry from supporters around the world. She miraculously survived and is now a leading campaigner for girls’ education globally as co-founder of the Malala Fund.
What an interesting documentary about an extraordinary girl who was destined for greatness from the womb.
This is a film that will be inspiring to all those who are desiring to make a difference, to stand up for injustice in this world. What a fantastic attitude Malala and her entire family have had before, during and after Malala’s life changing event.
It’s not only interesting and inspiring, it’s fascinating some of the facts surrounding her life. I can’t claim to understand much about the faith of Islam, but her attitude of forgiveness certainly reminds me of what Jesus requires of all of His followers.
