‘Reunion’ ~ CFDb Movie Review
Amazing Story of Adoption, Reunion and Redemption!
Reunion is a film about a teenage mother (Kim Copple) who choose to give her daughter (SaraAnn Evans) up for adoption, and their reunion more than 25 years later. Surprisingly, Kim went on to marry the father, (Duane Copple) and they had 2 more children together.
It is an amazing story of redemption and the marvel of 2 families becoming one.
What a touching documentary that takes you on a journey from despair to hope to reunion. What I loved most about this film was the reality of it. Even when we grow up in a Christian home, even when we give our lives to Jesus, that doesn’t mean we don’t get trapped into sin and sometimes those sins have real consequences.
This documentary will bring encouragement to those who are struggling with temptation and brings reminders of options when pregnant.
This film reminds me of I Corinthians 10:12 – Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. My mom used to always make the statement, “There for the grace of God go I”. I never forgot that statement because it reminded me to be careful not to say “NEVER”. When you find yourself saying I would NEVER do that, I would NEVER be like that person, beware…
God has a way of revealing to us that a lot of times we do exactly or something similar that someone else did that we formally judged. It’s a scary thought, but it’s the truth. Pride has no place in the Christian walk. Humility and compassion are what Jesus wants to see from His children.
My favorite part of the documentary was the reunion portion. I wonder how many similar stories are out there just waiting to be shared with others. There is always the reality of what happened in ‘October Baby‘, but when you hear about these wonderful reunions it would bring encouragement to a lot of people.
I really LOVED the way that they slowly were introduced to each other. Letters/pictures, then phone calls, then the actual meeting. What wisdom in how they allowed this process to happen.
This documentary will touch a lot of lives!
